Google review rating calculator
Enter your current Google rating and review count to find out how many new 5-star reviews you need to hit your target.
This assumes every new review is 5 stars. In practice, a mix of 4- and 5-star reviews means you may need more. Google rounds to the nearest 0.1 for display.
How this works
The maths behind your Google rating
Google calculates your star rating as a simple average: the sum of all review scores divided by the total number of reviews. The displayed rating is rounded to the nearest 0.1.
This calculator works backwards from your target. It assumes every new review is 5 stars and calculates the minimum number needed to bring your average up to your goal. In practice, not every review will be 5 stars — so treat the result as a best-case starting point.
The most effective way to improve your rating is a consistent review invitation system that asks every customer — not just the happy ones — to leave honest feedback. Businesses that do this typically see their rating climb steadily over 3–6 months.
